Principal Investigator:
Dr. Charles B. Stone, Assistant Professor, earned his doctorate in Cognitive Science at the Macquarie Centre for Cognitive Science at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. For his thesis, he was awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Commendation as a result of it being ranked in the top 5% of all theses reviewed by three external, eminent scholars in the field of memory studies. He comes to John Jay from a Marie Curie Actions of the European Commission postdoctoral fellowship at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. His research focuses on understanding how autobiographical, collective memories and individuals’ confidence in said memories are shaped through social influences. He’s currently the lead editor of a forthcoming book entitled Contextualizing human memory: An interdisciplinary approach to understanding how individuals and groups remember the past.
